Players,
Please be aware that THIS Saturday night (actually Sunday morning at 2am) , you should wind your clocks forward 1 hour. This means that we lose 1 hour and if you don't wind your clocks forward, you'll be 1 hour late to state league on Sunday!

Also note that my previous post was erroneous and the Mens are playing at 2pm and the Women are playing at 3pm this Sunday. The full fixture is shown below. Note also that the Semi Final has been changed from Tuesday 9th November to Sunday 7th November.

Results from Round 8.

With one round to go in the Minor Round, the Women won again!

Perhaps it was the weather, but I suspect it had more than a little to do with the fact that most of the team was there ready to worm up 45min before the game started!

Final result 6-4.

Notable points: Lindy and Wina - both (seperately) sent for time for backchat.

My tip - the opposition coach was fairly fired up, and might miss a game or two.

Both Mixed teams lost, the Opens going down 7 - 1, Juniors 11 - 6.

The Men also lost, 9 - 2.

Touchdown scorers were:

Phil Carter
Ashley Summers
Tracy Frith
Nicole Treleaven
Lindy Foureur
Emily Wray
Madelaine Carey
Melanie Day
Billy Macklin
Georgie Higginson
Will Sadler (2)
Jack Macklin (2)

and Yours Truly.

No game until October 31st. I'm interstate until then, so at this stage, I'll say the teams will stay the same. Anyone unavailable needs to contact me or Brice ASAP so we can shuffle players if we need to.

Later.

Summer Teams

CSTA is nominating the following teams over Summer.

Some Teams are nearly full - if you want to play in any teams, click on the 'Regional Co-ordinator' link to the left, and fire off an email. Or ring me on 0422 11 86 11.

If we get too many people, there still might be time to nominate more teams, but we need to be quick!

Grand Final Victories

Congratulations to CSTA Women's (now called CSTA Sparkle Motion) for their 6-1 victory over the nasty WDTA Women.

[rant mode ON]

I was extremely disappointed by the unsportsmanlike behaviour of some of the WDTA women on Monday night. Even after having almost a week to think about it, the one incident that still stands out in my mind (partly I guess because it was right in front of me) was the woman stepping onto the field to block Maddie's full-field run. Regardless of the fact that there was another player who was catching Maddie, behaviour like this has no place in our game. I understand that the referee didn't see how blatant it was, but I would have (if I was refereeing) sent that player for a period of time. It was totally not in the spirit of competition.

[rant mode OFF]

Also, congratulations to all other Scorps players who won Grand Finals this (or, indeed, last) week. And congratulations to all those players who won divisional best & fairest: Jo Fell comes to mind.
