Summer State League 2005 - Call for nominations

Dear City Touch Club and Central Scorpions Touch Association members,

Please read the following very carefully if you are interested in being part of the summer state league season to be played on Friday 25th February, Saturday 26th February and Sunday 27th February 2005.


BACKGROUND
The Central Scorpions Touch Association (CSTA) is a member of the Touch SA state league competition and provides an opportunity for City Touch members to play at a representative level. In order to qualify to play for CSTA you must be registered and playing in a City Touch Club competition in the Summer 2004/2005 season.

CSTA will be entering a team in each of the following divisions
Men's Open
Women's Open
Mixed Open
Junior Mixed (16 and under, born 1989 or after)
Please read the information below to find out what is required.


IMPORTANT DATES
The location of all trials, training, and games will be at the City Touch Club in Park 17 on Greenhill Road.
Trials (all divisions)
Sunday 23rd January, 4pm-6pm: Trials
AND
Sunday 30th January, 4pm-7pm: Trials/Training/SGM/BBQ
All players from City Touch and CSTA are welcome to attend the 2 trial days held on Sunday 23rd and 30th January. If you are unable to attend either of the trials, and wish to be considered for selection, you must contact Brice Mitchell (bricemitchell@yahoo.com.au) prior to the 2nd trial (Sunday 30th January). All players will trial together, and will be allocated to a team upon successful selection.
There will be a complimentary BBQ following the 2nd trial on 30th January (approx 6pm), at which time the Central Scorpions Touch Association will hold a Special General Meeting. At this meeting we will formalise all positions on the committee and we encourage all players and parents to attend.

Compulsory Training (all divisions)
Sunday 20th February, 4pm-6pm
Upon successful selection to a team, you will be expected to attend a compulsory training session held a week prior to the state league weekend. This training session will involve all players and coaches, but players will break into their division on the day.

Summer State League Season
Friday-Sunday 25th-27th February

The summer state league season will be played on 1 weekend and comprises of 3-4 minor round games (Friday/Saturday) and then finals (Sunday). The starting time for these games will be:
Friday 25th February: 6:30, 7:30, 8:30
Saturday 26th February: 11:00, 12:00, 1:00, 3:00, 4:00, 5:00
Sunday 27th February: 11:00, 12:00, 1:00, 3:00, 4:00


FEES
Season fees are due before 11th February
Adult $30
Junior (under 18, born 1987 or after) $25
Junior (under 16, born 1989 or after), Head Coaches, and Playing Referees $20

A shirt deposit is required upon receipt of your shirt at the compulsory training session on Sunday 20th February. This shirt must be returned at the end of the weekend and the deposit will be refunded.
Shirt Deposit $50

All players are required to wear shorts approved by CSTA and Touch SA. These can be purchased from CSTA as follows. All players (inc. juniors) must obey strict uniform requirements this season.
Male Wilma Shorts $30 (if required)
Female Wilma Black Shiny Bike Pants approx $25 (if required)

Coaches
CSTA is also seeking nominations for coaches in all divisions (Men's Open, Women's Open, Mixed Open, and Junior Mixed). Coaches are expected to either be ATA Accredited coaches or intend to become qualified at the next opportunity. CSTA is able to fund a coaching course for members interested in broadening their touch qualifications and coaching a CSTA side. In addition to this, head coaches receive discount on season fees and are rewarded with Ebanc dollars.

We are also seeking assistant coaches for all divisions. No coaching experience or qualifications are required, so this is a great opportunity for people who are interested in coaching in the future as it will give the successful nominee valuable experience.

Referees
CSTA is also seeking nominations for qualified referees to represent CSTA. In order to referee at state league you need a Level 1 or higher. Team Managers
In order to lighten the work conducted by the regional coordinator and coaches, we are seeking nominations for team managers. The main duties of a team manager would be ensuring all team administration requirements are met before, during, and after each game/training session. This role could either be filled by a players (same team or not) or parents. Nominations are to be submitted to Brice Mitchell (bricemitchell@yahoo.com.au) prior to Friday 11th February.
