Where is Lucy Alver?
Another fine win, with Scorps winning 15-0 over some other team. However, a referee error resulted in the score being recorded as 14-1. We don't mind, even though we don't like the opposition (some of whom haven't paid me for the last season, when they played in my team! - Not that I hold grudges, much).
The level of our play was far above the opposition, but I sometimes feel like we are getting a bit lazy - we'll meet at 6pm next week before a 6:15 game (please be ready to warm up at 6, even if that means getting there earlier!) and go through some stuff in preparation. We are playing Ellen's team, and they have got some girls who know how to play touch.
Justine returned to the team this week, a welcome addition. She is going to continue to play - I don't think we are going to have too many, since Mel D is away for about 6 weeks, and other people drop in and out when they choose, like Lucy A.
Fees are coming in well, with only two players not having paid anything - but since one of these is Jussy, we'll let her off. (The other one, well, Amy, that's you!) Luckily, she helped out with the BBQ (which raised about $50 to General Scorps revenue - if Brice hadn't helped out, I might have co-opted the money to CSTA Women's, but Scorps State League needs all the money it can get.) A Big Thankyou (tm) to Wina, Dons Em & Lars who also helped out (probably more than Amy, in reality, although she did wash up!).
We might have more BBQs in the future.
Another State League training/trial will be held this Sunday, although I understand most of the 18s girls will be away. Make sure you catch up with me or Ron and sign the paperwork!
